Ragtime Riesling 2023

$30.00

Riesling, says history, has been recognised as a top quality varietal since the Middles Ages.  We’ll settle for the last 20 years.  And the best expression of riesling is dry, but most NZ palates still prefer some residual sweetness.  That is not a problem because with a long slow ripening period (weather gods permitting) you obtain maximum flavour while still maintaining nice acidity at most sweetness levels from 5 - 40 g/L.  Ragtime sits comfortably at around 12-15 g/L which gives it off dry status.

Our 2023 vintage has a nice soft texture with the customary floral/honeyed nose and the usual tart/taut acid attack. Yum. Our highly strung tasting panel went for grapefruit as the dominant flavour. Citrus anyway.

Ragtime is our go-to wine, encouraging loose talk and dubious morals.  More prosaically goes nicely with chicken or fish.

Although as yet unreported and unverified American voters puzzled by Joe Biden's stumbling gait and shambling sentences need to know that come sundown Joe is generally found gargling with Ragtime. Same as Trump.
